How Should A Christian Vote

As we approach election day, we will continue to encounter people, and the “occasional” political ad, discussing how we should vote. The answer is certainly important. Our opportunity to select leaders is a blessing and should be used wisely. But perhaps we should reframe the question. The people of Israel stood at a crossroads. After years of being led by judges, who were themselves led by God, they demanded a king—someone to lead them like the nations around them. But in 1 Samuel 8:1-9, their request revealed more than just a desire for change. It exposed their priorities and their shifting trust away from God. The ballot becomes more than just a political decision. It’s a mirror for our hearts. It reveals what we value, how we see our place in this world, and whether we truly trust God in the process. This Sunday, we’ll dive into Israel’s first “election” and explore how their choice speaks to us today. How should we vote—not just who should we vote for, but how do we approach the process as Christians? Join us as we learn from Scripture what it means to make decisions that align with God’s will, not just the world’s demands. You won’t want to miss this timely message!
