God's Will Won't. . .

It’s one of the biggest questions we all ask: “What is God’s will for my life?” Whether it’s a career move, a relationship decision, or simply knowing what to do next, we often feel pressure to “get it right.” But what if we’ve misunderstood what God’s will really is? This Sunday, we kick off our new series, “The Trip to Troas,” exploring how God leads us to make decisions with His guidance—not by our guesses. Standing on the shore of the Aegean in the port city of Troas, Paul discovered God’s will for his life. He never planned to go to Macedonia. He had other ideas. Yet, that was exactly where God wanted him to be. He had found God’s will for his life—or maybe it would be better to say that God’s will found him! Throughout this series, we will focus on answering one single question: “How did Paul arrive in Troas?” And as we discover how Paul discovered God’s will for his life, we will learn valuable insights for how you and I can find God’s will too. This week, we will begin by clearing up some misconceptions. Many believe that God’s will is like a roadmap, where every turn must be known in advance. Others assume it’s a crystal ball, as if knowing His will means seeing the future. Some treat it like a scavenger hunt, where we must constantly be on the lookout for hidden clues. And some fear it’s a fragile object, believing one wrong move could ruin God’s plan forever. But the Bible tells a different story. God’s will is not something to decode, predict, or chase—it’s something we trust and follow. Join us this Sunday as we debunk these myths and discover what it truly means to walk in God’s will.
